VISION
Our vision is for every child and young adult suffering with a serious illness to feel happy, healthy, and hopeful.
MISSION
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children and young adults suffering with serious illness by offering support services, raising awareness, and providing research funding.
About The For Nina Foundation
Over 15,000 children face cancer each year. We bring hope and confidence back to those who lose their hair, one wig at a time.
Where We Began
The For Nina Foundation was created to carry forward a mission that Nina Karlinsky began herself. From a young age, Nina loved children and dedicated her time to helping them. At the University of Florida, she found her passion in Dance Marathon, a student-led movement supporting UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.
Even after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Nina stayed committed to making a difference. As a Family Relations Captain in 2018, she formed a special bond with her Miracle Child, Eli, and gave a heartfelt speech about how the experience shaped her as a student, volunteer, and patient. Just months later, Nina passed away, but her light continues to shine through everyone she inspired. Nina’s Dance Marathon team has continued to raised over $100,000 for Children’s Miracle Network.
Where We Are Now
Since then, the For Nina Foundation has raised almost $200,000 to support children and families in need. Established in 2022, The For Nina Foundation continues Nina’s legacy by helping children and young adults with cancer regain their confidence through 100% human hair, high-quality wigs. What began as one act of compassion has grown into a foundation dedicated to bringing comfort, joy, and hope to those who need it most.
How We Work
When Nina spoke at Dance Marathon, she said she was grateful to everyone who helped make her and other patients feel “as happy, healthy, and hopeful as possible.” That spirit remains at the heart of our mission.
The For Nina Foundation believes every child deserves that same happiness, health, and hope, along with the confidence that comes from feeling like themselves again. We provide 100% ethically sourced human hair, high-quality wigs to children and young adults with cancer, no forms or requirements needed. Regardless of financial situation, we are here to ease the burden on families and ensure every child receives a wig that helps them feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.
