    • A 501(c)3 Non profit with the goal is to continue to fight childhood diseases and support those families impacted by them. Our fundraising efforts have grown out of the work that Nina started and progressed into a foundation set on providing quality wigs for children who have lost their hair to chemotherapy . 

  • Nina was an incredibly driven and nurturing young woman who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2017. Despite being unable to return to school at the University of Florida because of intense treatment, Nina was determined to be a light to other children battling cancer. She continued to raise money through Dance Marathon at UF, personally supporting and encouraging hundreds of ill children. In May of 2018, only six weeks after the Dance Marathon, Nina passed away. Through Nina's undeniable resilience, The For Nina Foundation was born. 

  • Dance Marathon is a fundraising event that encourages its participants to continuously dance for a set duration of time, ranging anywhere from 12 to 48 hours. The purpose of the Dance Marathon is to raise money for charity and most commonly a local children’s hospital. Nina herself was an Emerging Leader for Dance Marathon!

  • Your donation directly supports our Wigs for Comfort and Confidence program, which provides high-quality, 100% human hair wigs to children and teens battling cancer. When a child or teen requests a wig, we guide families through the process, including measurements, and deliver the wig within 2-3 weeks. There are no qualifications—any child who reaches out receives a wig. Children can choose the style they want, and we partner only with reputable, ethically sourced cranial prosthesis providers to ensure every wig meets our high standards.

  • After Nina passed in May of 2018, her friends and family immediately knew they wanted to do their best to carry forward her legacy, but also her spirit of love. They combined their efforts to create the Nina Karlinsky Memorial Team and continued to raise money for the kids through Dance Marathon. In February of 2022, the For Nina Foundation was officially established to foster these fundraising efforts out of the work that Nina started.
