A Journey to Savannah: Overcoming Challenges to Deliver Joy
On September 18th, under a beautiful sky, our team set out early from Orlando to Savannah, eager to bring smiles to four young patients through our Wigs for Comfort and Confidence program. Despite logistical hurdles—including navigating a tricky hospital location and setting up our "wig wagon" in a parking lot without direct power—we remained undeterred. With the help of a generator, our talented wigmaker Katia was ready to work her magic.
Aspen and Ellie: Friends United by Hope
Our first appointments were with Aspen and Ellie, two friends who met while receiving treatment at the hospital. Their bond was evident, and their excitement was contagious as they prepared to receive their new wigs together. Thanks to Katia's innovative new process, which now allows her to create custom wigs in less than an hour, both girls were soon transformed.
Aspen requested a vibrant rainbow wig, and Katia crafted a stunning piece that captured her joyful spirit. Ellie chose a gorgeous brown wig that accentuated her natural beauty. Dressed like princesses, the two friends embraced and walked around like runway models, their confidence soaring. Witnessing their happiness reaffirmed the impact of our mission.

After ensuring the wig cap was a perfect fit, we returned to the wig wagon to create Lylah's wig.
In just 40 minutes, we were back in Lylah's room. Though a bit drowsy, her excitement was clear as Katia styled her new wig while she relaxed in bed. As we left, we could hear the nurses sharing in her joy, their enthusiasm echoing down the hall.
