September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Join Us for Wellness Week to Support Our Wig Program
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and here at the For Nina Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting children and young adults fighting cancer. This month, we are hosting Wellness Week, a special week-long event to raise awareness about the challenges these brave individuals face while promoting mental and physical well-being.
Through a series of donation-based virtual classes, we aim to raise an additional $5,000 for our Wigs for Comfort and Confidence Program, which provides high-quality, comfortable wigs to children, teens, and young adults who are undergoing cancer treatments. These wigs not only help restore confidence but also ease the burden on families, removing the stress of finding a suitable wig during a difficult time. Our program ensures that these kids can feel more like themselves again, no matter the circumstances.
All events can be joined virtually through the provided links, making it easy to participate from the comfort of your own home. Each class is suitable for all ages, so bring the whole family to experience wellness together!
We invite you to participate in our Wellness Week by attending our classes and making a donation to support our Wigs for Comfort and Confidence Program. Each class is designed to bring balance, health, and peace into your life, while your donations will directly benefit those in need.
Wellness Week Schedule:
We have a fantastic lineup of classes running from Monday, September 23, 2024, to Sunday, September 29, 2024. These classes are donation-based, and we encourage you to contribute whatever you can to help us reach our goal. All classes are suitable for all ages and can be done at home with simple, easy-to-follow instructions.

7:00 PM – Mental Health Talk: Getting The Most Out Of Therapy
- We’ve all heard it before: "You should see a therapist." Fortunately, therapy no longer carries the stigma it once did, and many people, even young kids, are now open about seeing a therapist as part of their regular life. But how do you find the right therapist, and what should you expect from therapy? In this session, Dr. Erica Karlinsky of Heathrow Psychology, will guide you through the process of understanding therapy:
- How to choose the right therapist for you
- What questions to ask during therapy
- The different approaches therapists use and how to know which is right for you
- If you’re currently seeing a therapist or considering starting, this hour-long talk will give you the tools you need to make the most of your experience.

Michelle will discuss how to fit reading into your daily life, no matter how much you have going on, what reading has meant to her, and how to get the most out of every book. Does Michelle put a book down if she is not enjoying it or does she finish every book she starts? She will tell you the answer, and if she does put it down, does she give it one page or one chapter before deciding? Michelle will discuss all of this and more, and it is all about books. Please come ready to tell the group about a book that you recommend!
